Around 153,000 people live with Parkinson's disease in the UK. It is progressive, complex, and frequently misunderstood. Most people associate Parkinson's with a tremor. But tremor is just one symptom among dozens, and it is absent in many people with the condition. The reality is far more nuanced – and far more important for you to understand.
For first-timers: Parkinson's disease will affect many of your patients across whatever healthcare setting you work in. This course gives you the knowledge to provide safe, informed, compassionate care.
For refreshers: The biggest risk area for experienced staff is Parkinson's medication timing. Studies show that medication omissions and delays in hospital are extremely common – and that they cause serious, preventable harm. Be honest with yourself about your current practice.
